Vision Assistance from the Lions

Lions Clubs in Alaska District 49A offer vision assistance to those living in Southeast, Southwest and Central Alaska. Some of the vision-related services that are offered include:

  • Vision screening in schools, at baby fairs, for military vets
  • Vision screening at the Alaska State Fair
  • Assistance with prescription and eye wear costs for those without insurance

Residents in each community can contact the Lions Club in their area to request assistance.

Alaska District 49A

District 49-A (Aurora) is comprised of that portion of Alaska south of the 62nd parallel (Susitna River, near Trapper Creek), to include the “Southeast” and west through the Aleutian Islands. This geographic area represents approximately 229,727 square miles.
